Overview of the gallery with works by Bas Meerman. Steendrukkerij Amsterdam
A passion for paper is basically what started Steendrukkerij (lithographic printshop) Amsterdam. For more than 30 years Rento Brattinga has explored the boundaries of printing together with artists from the Netherlands and abroad. Artists like Dan Flavin, Claes Oldenburg, Marlene Dumas, Carel Visser, Armando and others have found their way to the print studio situated on one of the canals of Amsterdam. Of every printed edition a single copy was reserved and signed ‘for Rento’. In 2001, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the printshop, approximately 2500 of these prints were donated to the Fries Museum, preserving a unique insight into a quarter century of contemporary printing in Europe. It seemed only natural that a gallery should be added. Steendrukkerij Amsterdam now represents contemporary artists of international reputation and exhibits their original works as well as printed works. The entire collection of prints in stock can be seen on our website. For more information please contact us during opening hours. Opening hours: Wednesday - Saturday, 13:00 - 17:30
